Our Latest Completed Ground-up Restoration: 1978 Bally Playboy – NOW AVAILABLE!

No stone, left unturned…

Well over 200 hours was spent on this restoration, see below for details!

A passion for resurrecting classic 70’s pinball machines!

Early Bally Solid State machines from 1977-84 are our wheelhouse. This Playboy represents “old school” pinball at it’s zenith. We love Williams and Stern pins from this era too!

Playfield – TOP

I started with a new playfield from Classic Playfield Reproductions (CPR), as the original playfield was worn to wood in many places. I added a set of new playfield plastics, flipper bats, star posts, and clear Titan pinball rubber with pink for the flippers.

Playfield – Bottom

All general illumination and feature lamps replaced with LED lighting with no flicker technology. All mechanisms rebuilt with new armatures and coil sleeves. Flipper mechanisms are 100% new. Pop bumper action is strong. All new drop targets with correct bunny graphics.

Backbox

A new CPR Backglass for Playboy was the starting point along with all new general and feature illumination. 5 new 6-digit LED displays will ensure reliable operation for many years to come using safe low voltage, versus the stock HV displays which can actually kill you. No joke.

Electronics

New MPU (the brains of the machine) board, with onboard NVRAM (no possibility of battery corrosion), on-board support for LEDs, and compatibility with over 75 games. New Sound and Rectifier boards, and fully reconditioned/updated Solenoid and Lamp driver boards with adjustable 5v logic.

Cabinet

Full cabinet repaint using licensed stencils from The Pinball Pimp. Completely rebuilt coin door with new 25c coin acceptors and original Bally pricing plates. Correct pricing, and threshold/adjustment placards properly placed in the lower and upper cabinet. New translucent cabinet flipper buttons.

Miscellaneous

New licensed playfield arch graphics, new playfield glass, pink coil wrappers, manual, tech sheet (in cab), new 8 Ohm speaker, and more! Click the “Watch on YouTube” video link below for a tour!

“Pete was awesome enough to reach out with a machine I was interested in and deliver it personally while traveling, saving me on delivery costs. He cocooned it well, you can tell he puts care into handling his machines. Buying from him was a great experience, he’s one cool dude.”
